Marie Alena Tupper Darrah (Piency) of Bloomingdale, passed on peacefully the morning of Wednesday, December 04, 2013.
The youngest sibling of five, Marie was born in Massena, Ny., on June 17, 1955. She was the daughter of Nelson and Dolores (Mack) Tupper, whom both passed before witnessing Marie and her family grow.
Marie married at the age of 18, to a Jerry Moran of Massena, Ny. Shortly after, they hit the road. Traveling to Toronto, California and all around the country, the acquired group of musicians and them made a successful stride in playing a part in the nation’s top music scenes. In the years of their travels they met extraordinary people and earned a similar title of their own. Marie’s consistent contribution over these years was of health and sound mind. Small acts of kindness blessed her travels, she frequently mentioned with memorable moments.
In the early 1980’s the couple divorced. Marie found her mother Dolores and a new home in Saranac Lake. She became a free lance house keeper, a passionate employee for the ARC and on the deans list, earned her associates degree at North Country Community College. In late July of 1987, Marie married again to a Stuart J. Darrah and had two very happy children. They later divorced, but not before a solid decade of quality upbringing.
Hardship riddled into later years, yet each predicament proved how pure a heart can be. Marie laid the foundation for love in her family and remained consistent in sharing it. You are the fuel to my faith, I love you mom.
She is survived by one son Nigel Darrah of Bloomingdale, one daughter Alina Darrah of Saranac Lake, two sisters Gloria Sweeney and her husband Melvin of Parishville and Donna McGill and her husband Robert of Parishville, two brothers Richard Tupper of New Mexico and Thomas Tupper of Massena. She was preceded in death by her father and mother.
Calling hours will take place at the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home in Saranac Lake on Tuesday, December 10, 2013 from 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM. A memorial service will immediately follow at 2:00 PM at the funeral home with Rev. Mark Reilly officiating.
