Reginald D'Ambrisi

Reginald William “Reggie” D’Ambrisi, 77 of Saranac Lake, US Navy Retired, died Wednesday July 24, 2019 at his residence.

Born in Moriah, NY on February 10, 1942, he was the son of Michael and Vivan (Hopkins) D’Ambrisi.

Reggie married Paula Lamphere on November 24, ,1989 in Norwich, CT. He enlisted in the US Navy in 1965 and served until his retirement in 1981. During his time in the Navy, Reggie was part of the “Seebee’s”. Reggie was a volunteer Firefighter in Saranac Lake and Laurel Hill Fire Department in Norwich, Ct. He was an avid collector of Firefighter & EMT memorabilia. Following retirement, Reggie returned to work, working for the Adirondack Daily Enterprise in the mail room, for Citizens Advocates as a Janitorial Supervisor and as a Security Guard for General Dynamics in Connecticut. Reggie was an avid book reader favoring Louis L’Amour novels. Reggie had a love for animals and was extremely fond of his cat of 20 years “Nigel” who predeceased him in June 2019.

Reggie is survived by his wife Paula A. (Lamphere) D’Ambrisi, one sister Val D’Ambrisi of Saranac Lake, a brother Michael (Debbie) D’Ambrisi of Rainbow Lake and a step-son Matthew O’Brien. He was preceded in death by his mother and father Vivan and Michael (Hopkins) D’Ambrisi.

Funeral arrangements are in care of the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home in Saranac Lake. There will be no calling hours, burial will take place in at a later date at the convenience of the family.
