Cora M. Cray of Vermontville, New York, passed away Wednesday, January 13, 2010 at the home of her daughter Jacquelin Hall in Schuyler Falls New York at the age of 81.
Cora was born February 7, 1928 in Schuyler Falls NY. She was the daughter of Ralph and Ethel (Lavigne) Williams.
Mrs. Cray was employed as a laboratory technician at the Saranac Lake General Hospital which later became the Adirondack Medical Center for 30 years, retiring in 1996. She had been a member of the AARP, DAR, The Town of Franklin Republican committee as an elections inspector for over 40 years. Cora enjoyed knitting, crafts, BINGO, and especially NASCAR racing, with a heavy emphasis on her favorite driver, number 24, Jeff Gordon.
Cora is survived by her Daughter, Jacquelin Hall and her husband David of Schuyler Falls NY, Two sons, Bruce Cray of Tuatuin Oregon, and Rodrick Williams and his wife Luella of Saranac Lake NY. Five Grandchildren: Cheryl(Cray)El-Haimeur of Raleigh NC, Valerie (Cray) Basha and Michael Cray of Webster NY, Cori Hall of Ocala FLA, and Kathleen (Hall) Dumont of Plattsburgh, NY. Five nieces and nephews: Bernard Delfs of Albany, NY, Carin Delfs of Winston Salem NC, Janet Lyon of Vermontville, NY, Catherine Riley of Lakeland FLA, and Richard Delfs of NC.
Cora was preceded in death by her Mother and Father, her Husband Sterling 1n 1980, her sister Ruth Delfs, and in 2009 by her long time and beloved companion Robert R. "MAC" Bushey.
Calling hours will take place on Sunday, January 17, 2010 from 2-4 and 7-9 at the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home in Saranac lake. The funeral will be held at 2:00 on Monday, Jan. 18, 2010
At the family's request, friends wishing to remember Cora may make a contribution in her name to the Fitzpatrick Cancer Center of the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh New York.
