Jeffrey J. Couture (Coutch), aged 60, died peacefully at his home in Saranac Lake, New York, during his favorite season.
Coutch graduated from Paul Smith’s College in ‘78, with a degree in Ecology & Environmental Technology. He fell in love with the Adirondacks, and made the mountains his home. Coutch was a gifted artist, woodworker, and musician who had a special way with words and a twinkle in his eye.
As a young man he began exploring the Adirondacks while hunting with his father, Roy A. Couture. He shared a love of good cooking and painting with his mother, Gladys E. Rawlings Couture. Jeff was predeceased by his parents.
He was deeply loved by his children, Toby Couture and Caroline Couture Golub, their spouses Amelia Couture and Danny Golub, his former wife Lora Couture, his dear friends Debbie and Dan Stoorza, his companion Sarah Curtis, his sisters and their families from the Capitol Region, and an entire community that was like family to him. Jeff was an extraordinary, compassionate, multi-talented, gentle man. We will carry his memory in our hearts forever.
A Memorial Service will be held at Mt. Pisgah Lodge on Saturday November 3rd at 3pm.
Funeral arrangements are in care of the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home in Saranac Lake. Memorial contributions may be made to the Adirondack Wildlife Refuge & Rehabilitation Center in honor of Jeff Couture. Family and friends can also share their memories and sign the online guestbook at fortunekeoughfuenralhome.com.
