Tupper Lake - Hans J. Corneille, 91, of Tupper Lake passed away peacefully at his home on June 24, 2012. He was surrounded by people who loved and cared for him.

He was born on September 22, 1920 in Landau, Germany where he lived and worked, also serving in WWII, and became a civilian physician in the US Air Force. In 1957, he immigrated to the United States. He worked as a physician in several NY hospitals, then in 1959 began his work in psychiatry at the Middletown State Hospital. In 1965, he moved to Tupper Lake and became the Assistant Director, then the Chief of Service at Sunmount State School/Sunmount Developmental Center where he worked until 1986. He also had a private practice. He then moved to Dannemora where he worked in Forensic Services at the Clinton Correctional Facility until 2000 when he retired from the state and moved back to Tupper Lake.

He was predeceased in 2009 by his wife, Monika M. Corneille of Boston. Surviving him are his loving daughters Iris M. Corneille-Batson, and husband Ramon of Redding, CT, Nicole M. Corneille-Herzog, husband George, and granddaughters Tyler and Summer of Edison, NJ, and Michele R. C. Evans (Corneille), husband Daniel and granddaughters Sara and Jessica of Waddington, NY; also his longtime and devoted companion Beverly Brownell of Tupper Lake, NY.

Funeral arrangements are in care of the Stuart-Fortune-Keough Funeral Home in Tupper Lake. There will be no calling hours. A Celebration of Life will be held at the family's convenience.
