Annie E. Converse, age 95, of 60 Church Street, Saranac Lake died Saturday, February 18, 2017 at Elderwood of Uihlein at Lake Placid where she had been a resident since November.
Born in Bloomingdale, New York on December 21, 1921, she was the daughter of Richard and Doris (Sprague) Hewitt. Annie married Orla Raymond Converse. He predeceased her on September 18, 1986.
Annie was a lifetime resident of Saranac Lake and had worked for the American Management Association for several Year. She was a member of the St. Bernard's choir, St. Bernard’s prayer group and volunteered for meals-on-wheels.
She is survived by four children Lois Mueller of Littleton, MA, Leon (Britney) Converse of Flagler, Florida, Stephen (Marilyn) Converse of Littleton, MA and Elaine (Gerald) LaPage of Saranac Lake. She is also survived by several grandchildren, great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two brothers John and William Hewitt, one sister Arlene Amell and one son-in-law Frank Mueller.
Funeral arrangements are in care of the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home in Saranac Lake. There will be no calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at St. Bernard's Church. Burial will take place at St. Bernard Cemetery in Saranac Lake in the spring.
