Winifred K. Clark, age 91, formerly of Saranac Lake died Wednesday, January 06, 2010 at AMC-Uihlein Nursing Home.
Born in Vermontville, New York on July 08, 1918, she was the daughter of William and Mary (Keese) Kelly. She married James Clark, Sr. on November 8, 1941 in St. Paul's Church, Bloomingdale. He predeceased her on February 6, 1997.
Mrs. Clark was a 1936 graduate of Saranac Lake High School. She later attended and graduated from Champlain Valley Hospital School of Nursing with her RN degree. Mrs. Clark was a life long resident of the area. She had worked at the Old General Hospital of Saranac Lake and later for the medical practice of Doctors Merkel and Decker until her retirement in 1978. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America Court 787 and was a member of St. Bernard's Church.
The family would like to especially thank the staff at the Keene Valley Neighborhood House and AMC-Uihlein for the kindness and care during her time there.
She is survived by two sons John Clark and his wife Tina Marie of Vermontville, NY and James Clark Jr. and his wife Kathryn of Saranac Lake, NY; four grandchildren Kellie and her husband James Kay of Clifton Park, NY, Kevin and his wife Megan Clark of Bellingham, MA; Kyle Clark of Statesboro, GA, and Matthew Clark of Saranac Lake, NY; two great grandchildren Morgan Kay of Clifton Park, NY and Ryan Clark of Bellingham, MA; one brother Lawrence Kelly of Vermontville, NY and several nieces and nephews. She is also survived by one son-in-law Dallas Ingram of Edgewood, NM. She was preceded in death by her daughter Carolyn Ingram, three sisters Mary Kelley, Helen Kelly, and Sr. Mary Celeste Kelly, RSM and one brother Joseph Kelly.
Funeral arrangements are in care of the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home in Saranac Lake. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 12:00 PM on Saturday January 9, 2010 at Uihlein Mercy Center Chapel, with Rev. Patrick O'Reilly officiating. Burial will take place at St. Bernard Cemetery in Saranac Lake in May.
