Louise Christie

Louise Margaret Christie, age 92, of Saranac Lake, NY died Wednesday, March 09, 2011 at the Adirondack Medical Center in Saranac Lake.

Born in AuSable Forks, New York on August 14, 1918, she was the daughter of Charles and Leona (Yelle) Wilkins. She married Albert Christie on July 23, 1945 in Los Angeles, California.

Louise was a life long resident of Saranac Lake and had been employed at the American Management Association as a Process Clerk from 1957 until her retirement in 1984. She is a past member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary Post 3357 and volunteered for the Voice of America. Louise especially enjoyed spending time with her family and cooking.

She is survived by three children Leona Sauvie and her husband Bernie of Saranac Lake, NY, Sheila Weiner and her husband Lee of Florence, KY, and Frances Orne and her husband Don of North Prairie, WI, one sister Elzida Wilkins of Saranac Lake, NY, two grandchildren Bryce Weiner of Santa Barbara, CA and Ryan Bennett of Raleigh, NC, one great granddaughter Courtney Weiner of Santa Barber, CA and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her father, mother, three sisters Ida Harvey, Kathreen Wilkins, Irene Foster and two brothers Harold Wilkins and Richard Wilkins all life long residents of Saranac Lake.

Funeral arrangements are in care of the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home in Saranac Lake. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 12:00 PM on Friday March 11, 2011 at St. Bernard's Church in Saranac Lake, with Rev. Mark Reilly officiating. Burial will take place at St. Bernard Cemetery in Saranac Lake in May.
