Joseph Peter Cavallo, Jr., age 57, of 16 Rockledge Lane, Saranac Lake, died Friday, February 06, 2015 at the University Of Vermont Medical Center.
Born in Saranac Lake, New York on September 14, 1957, he was the son of Joseph and Edna (Cole) Cavallo, Sr. Joseph, married Lillian Duffy on April 7, 2006 in Los Vegas, NV.
Joe was a lifelong resident of Saranac Lake and had been a co-owner and operator of the Belvedere Restaurant in Saranac Lake. Joe wanted to be remembered as having a mind like steel and a heart of platinum. He was compassionate to everyone he came in contact with. He was a lover but not a fighter and enjoyed being able to verbally out whit anyone who challenged him.
He is survived by his wife Lillian Cavallo of Saranac Lake, one brother Gerard Cavallo and his wife Joanne of Saranac Lake, one sister Ellen Campion of Jay, and several nieces and nephews including Jay, Ethan, Christopher, Alyssa, Grace, Sawyer, and Megan. He is also survived by his 4 favorite dogs, Major, Minor, Mini and Jose. He was preceded in death by his father, mother and one brother Daniel Cavallo.
Funeral arrangements are in care of the Fortune-Keough Funeral home in Saranac Lake. There will be no calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 12:00 PM on Thursday February 12, 2015 at St. Bernard's Church, in Saranac Lake with Rev. Patrick Ratigan officiating. Burial will take place in the spring at St. Bernard Cemetery in Saranac Lake.
