Richard A. Broeckx, age 59, of 14 Kiwassa, Saranac Lake, died Saturday, June 01, 2013.
Born in Lake Placid, New York on November 11, 1953, he was the son of George and Catherine (See) Broeckx. He grew up in Wilmington and attended Lake Placid Schools.
Richard is a veteran of the United States Navy serving from 1972 to 1976. He returned to the area in 2008 coming from Tampa, Florida where he had been employed as a computer data processor. He liked working on computers and especially helping his sisters with their gardens and yard work. He loved nature and wildlife. Richard enjoyed spending time and playing with all the family pets.
He is survived by one brother George Broeckx of Albany, three sisters Rose Broeckx of Wilmington, Marcelle Ingraham and her husband Peter of Vermontville, Kathleen Tompkins and her husband Rodger of Wilmington, nieces and nephews Heather Broeckx, Giselle and Elias Ingraham, Rachel and Andre’ Tompkins, one great niece Summer Broeckx-Smith and all of his friends at the VA Hospital in Albany in the ENT and Oncology units.
Funeral arrangements are in care of the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home in Saranac Lake. There will be no calling hours. Services will take place at the convenience of the family.
