Dora Bova, age 77, of 77 Catherine Street, Malone, died Saturday, October 27, 2012 at her home.

Born in Saranac Lake, New York on September 09, 1935, she was the daughter of Felix and Doris (Barnaby) Gates. She married Joseph Bova, Sr. on December 24, 1954 at the Nazarene Church in Vermontville.

Dora had worked at the Glove and Shoe Factory in Saranac Lake. She loved going for rides with her husband Joseph and going to yard sales.

She is survived by her husband Joseph Bova, Sr. of Lake Placid, four sons Bradley Bova of Orlando, FL, Timothy Bova and his wife Susan of Malone, Joseph Bova, Jr. and his wife Tammy of Saranac Lake, Wayne Bova and his wife Kelly of Malone, NY, one daughter Christine Swinyer and her husband Gerald of Vermontville, one brother Philip Gates of Lake Clear, one sister Gola Hearn of Vienna, OH, and several grandchildren, great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, mother, 4 sisters Marguerite Gates, Dorothy Gillette, Louisa Martin, and Vina Leach, and one brother Arthur Gates.

Calling hours will take place at the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home on Tuesday, October 30, 2012 from 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM. A funeral service will immediately follow at 3:00 PM at the funeral home with Rev. Kenneth Mihill officiating. Burial will follow at Union Cemetery in Vermontville.
