Gerard “Jerry Twister” Ross Bombard, age 78, of 14 Kiwassa Road, Saranac Lake, died Wednesday, October 12, 2016 at the Elderwood of Uihlein at Lake Placid.
Born in Saranac Lake, NY on May 14, 1938, he was the son of Howard and Mattie (Taylor) Bombard.
Jerry worked at the Marmac Lanes in Saranac Lake for 23 years and also later worked for Tom Brindisi Roofing for over 15 years. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and bowler. He is a past member of the Saranac Lake Moose Lodge and had served in the New York State National Guard.
He is survived by his former wife Jean Tucker of Cadyville, two sons David Bombard and his companion Jennifer OTT of Myrtle Beach, NC and Steven Bombard of Saranac Lake, one daughter Cindy (Jacques) DeMars of Vermontville, four grandchildren Jacques DeMars, Jr. of Redford, Renee (Edward) Ababio of North Carolina, Stephanie DeMars of Vermontville and Justin Bombard of El Cajon, CA and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers John and James and one sister Ruth Svocak.
Calling hours will take place at the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home on Monday, October 17, 2016 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM. A funeral service will immediately follow at 7:00 PM at the funeral home, with Rev. Patrick Ratigan officiating. Burial will take place at 10 Am on Tuesday October 18, 2016 at St. John the Baptist Cemetery in Keeseville.
