Emil Francis Block Jr,. age 87, of 236 McComb Street, Saranac Lake, died Thursday, February 03, 2011 at AMC-Uihlein Center in Lake Placid.
Born in Paul Smiths, New York on August 16, 1923, he was the son of Emil and Sadie (Blanchard) Block Sr.
Emil was a life long resident of Saranac Lake. He had been employed by the Town of Brighton and later for the Trevor Camp on Upper St. Regis Lake.
He is survived by two sisters Martha Martin of Rennselaer, NY and Margaret Martin of Saranac Lake, NY, one brother Willy Block of Rennselaer, NY and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will take place at the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home on Monday, February 7, 2011 from 6:00 PM - 7:30 PM.. A funeral service will immediately follow at 7:30 PM at the funeral Home with Rev. Susan Kenna officiating. Burial will take place at St. John's Cemetery in Paul Smiiths in May.
