Warren N. Bickford, age 67, died Monday, January 10, 2022 at his home in Vermontville after a 2 year battle with cancer.
Born in Saranac Lake, New York on July 31, 1954, he was the son of Kendall and Elliody (Shene) Bickford.
Warren settled in the area after doing two years in the Army and some traveling.. A talented carpenter, he worked for various contractors for over 30 years. He also did landscaping work for many years in Rockefeller Park. He finished out the last 10 years of his working career as a cook at the Lake placid Pub and Brewery.
He was an avid fisherman and ice fisherman, winning many fishing derbies including the Lake Colby Classic. He also enjoyed Nascar, hunting and putting his carpentry skills to use by designing and making his own birch bark Adirondack kitchen cabinets and various other pieces.
Warren had a great sense of humor and it brought him joy to see people laugh.
He is survived by two sisters Dawn Rowell of Saranac Lake and Vicky (Joey) Powell of Freeman, VA and one brother Wendall (Kimberly) Bickford of Rainbow Lake. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousin including his favorite cousin and fishing partner Mark Giddings. He was preceded in death by his father, mother and one sister Tina LeClair.
Funeral arrangements are in care of the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home in Saranac Lake. A graveside service will take place in the spring at Union Cemetery in Vermontville.
