Elaine Begor

Elaine M. Begor, age 83, of Vermontville, died Saturday, July 3, 2021 at her son’s home in Vermontville under the care of High Peaks Hospice.

Born in Bloomingdale, NY on January 31, 1938, she was the daughter of Burland and Lena (Duquette) Tummons. Elaine married Raymond Begor October 24, 1959 in Bloomingdale, NY. He predeceased her on February 15, 2009.

Elaine had been a lifelong resident of the area and had worked on Norman’s Farm in Bloomingdale and later worked with her husband at the Cedar Bridge Camp in St. Regis Falls. Elaine loved to crochet, working in her flower gardens and to go for walks with her friend Crystal Yando.

She is survived by three sons Bill (Elisa) Begor of Albuquerque, NM, Wayne (Missy) Begor of Vermontville and John (Lisa) Begor of Plattsburgh; two daughters Darlene (Craig) Wright of Saranac Lake and Mary Ellen Begor and her companion John Peckham of Vermontville, 10 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. She is also survived by one brother Robert (Frances) Tummons of Morrisonville and three sisters Jolene (John) Paye of Rainbow Lake, Marilyn (Bill) Miller of Chestertown, and Rosemary (Larry) Holder of Chesapeake Bay, VA, and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral arrangements are in care of the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home in Saranac Lake. A graveside service will take place at a later date at Union Cemetery in Vermontville.
