Lieutenant Commander Bruce Clifford Barry, U.S. Navy, Retired, age 98, formerly of Rainbow Lake and most recently of Champlain Valley Senior Community, Willsboro, NY, died Sunday, November 26, 2017.
Born in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin on January 30, 1919, he was the son of Philip and Mary (Schwahn) Barry.
Bruce, married Isabelle (Muncil) on August 2, 1945 in Baltimore, MD. He attended the University of Wisconsin, Navy Post-Graduate School at Annapolis and Harvard, General Line School and Naval War College at Newport, R.I. He was Commanding Officer of the U.S.S. Darby (DE-218 from 1956 until 1958. He held 12 service ribbons/citations with 12 battle stars for WWII and the Korean Conflict.
He is survived by Survived by many Nephew's and Niece's - Bobby Muncil, Jane Cramer, Mike Jenkins, Christine Muncil, Donna Muncil, Noelle Santiago, Westly Muncil, Nelson Jr. Muncil, and his wonderful friend and care taker, Emily Warner.
Funeral arrangements are in care of the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home in Saranac Lake. Burial will take place in Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
