Donna M. Barkley, 66, of Tupper Lake passed away at her home on Friday January 29, 2010 after a brief battle with cancer. Born on November 25, 1943 in Albany, she was the daughter of Murlin and Doris (Clark) Barkley. Donna was raised and educated in Whitesboro, NY and graduated in 1961. She went on to Faxton Hospital school of Nursing graduating in 1964. She moved to Tupper Lake and worked at Sunmount DDSO retiring in 1995 after 30 years of service. Donna enjoyed bowling and was an active member of BPW. She is survived by her mother, Doris Barkley of Tupper Lake, sisters Marilyn Benware and Linda Kasper-Varden both of Tupper Lake and Susan Burner of Huber Heights, Ohio. Also surviving are nephews, Michael (Keesha) Kasper of PA., Derek and William Kasper of Tupper Lake, Jenifer (Edward) Mullikin of Conifer and grand nieces, Keira, Kiya Mullikin and Reese Kasper. She is also survived by very special friends George and Jenny Mathews. Donna enjoyed summering at her and Marilyn's summer home at Blue Jay Campsite. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, February 3 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm at the Stuart-Fortune-Keough Funeral home in Tupper Lake. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Lakeview cemetery in May.
