TUPPER LAKE- Shane I. Barber,47, of Tupper Lake passed away unexpectedly, Tuesday, December 6th, 2011. Born October 7, 1964 in Tupper Lake, he was the son of Lloyd and Sandra (Randall) Barber. Shane graduated from Tupper Lake High school in 1982 and served 2 years in the U.S. Navy. On March 19, 1994 he married the former Penny Farnsworth. He attended North Country Community College and was employed at Sunmount DDSO. At the time of his death he was supervisor of the St. Bernard's street in Saranac Lake. For many years, he was a CSEA Union representative and was able to help many people through difficult times. Shane was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose. He was an avid bowler, enjoyed the outdoors, hunting and fishing and loved cooking. He enjoyed Coca Cola and was a dedicated fan of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the NY Yankees. He loved spending time with his children, nieces and nephews and was expecting his first grandchild. He is survived by his mother, children Cynthia , Matthew and Taryn Barber and Christina McGowan. He was pre-deceased by a daughter Karissa Mae and his father Lloyd "Huckie". Calling hours will be held on Friday, December 9 from 2-4 and 6 - 8 pm at the Stuart-Fortune-Keough Funeral Home in Tupper Lake. A funeral service will be held at the Funeral Home on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. All are welcome at a celebration of his life at the Moose after his service.
