Donna M. Bandy, age 61, of 15 Elm Street, Saranac Lake, died Friday, July 10, 2009 at Adirondack Medical Center in Saranac Lake.
Born in Saranac Lake, New York on October 13, 1947, she was the daughter of Edwin and Loretta (Smith) Stevens.
Donna had been a resident of Saranac Lake area for most of her life and had been employed as a Developmental Aid for Sunmount DDSO at 78 Edgewood since 1994. Prior to that she had also lived in Florida and Texas for a short time. Donna loved spending time with her sisters, her cats, reading, playing cards and watching court T.V.
She is survived by one son Daniel W. Helms, Jr. of Saranac Lake, NY, two daughters Michelle D. Mills of Saranac, NY and Renee M. Kieke of Brenham, TX, two brothers Paul Stevens of Rochester, NY and Roy Stevens of Redford, NY, five sisters Naoma Lanthier of Tupper Lake, NY, Joan Shurtleff of Colorado, Diana Perry of Saranac Lake, NY, Clara Lanthier of Tupper Lake, NY and Barbara St. Louis of Tupper Lake, NY, three grandsons Robert T. Miles of Lake Placid, NY, Cameron L. Zaborowski of Brenham, TX, and Ryan J. Miles of Florida and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, mother and her niece Rebecca Hughes and Denise Stevens
Funeral arrangements are in care of the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home in Saranac Lake. A graveside service will take place on Wednesday July 15, 2009 at 2:00 PM at St. Bernard's Cemetery in Saranac Lake, with Rev. Thomas Kornmeyer officiating.
