Barbara J. Baldwin, age 64, of 112 Prospect Ave., Saranac Lake, died Tuesday, August 31, 2010 at her home.

Born in Plattsburgh, New York on October 24, 1945, she was the daughter of George and Blanche (Charbonneau) Barie. She married Thomas Baldwin on August 11, 1967.

A resident of Saranac Lake for most of her life, Barbara worked at various snack bars and lunch counters as well as Ames, E&M Market, St. Bernard’s School Cafeteria, the Troy Laundry and the Great Camp Laundry. She also operated a day care out of her home at various times. Barbara enjoyed BINGO, fishing, national politics and TV but most of all she enjoyed being in her home with her family.

She is survived by her husband Thomas, three children Kimberly Cobb-Sleeger and her husband Bruce of Glenburnie, MD, Thomas Baldwin and his wife Amy of Saranac lake, Ashley Wales of Saranac lake, seven grandchildren, one great-grandchild, one sister Louretta Fournier and her husband Gary of Saranac lake, one brother Donald Barie and wife Sue, one aunt Alma Sawyer of Saranac Lake and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father and mother.

Calling hours will take place at the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home in Saranac Lake on Saturday September 11, 2010 from 2:00 PM to 3:30 PM. A memorial service will immediately follow at 3:30 PM at the funeral home with Jeffrey Grey and Rev. Patrick O’Reilly officiating. Burial will take place in McLean Rural Cemetery.
