Saranac Lake- Paulette Irene Babcock, 94, died Monday, June 21, 2010 in Saranac Lake. Born on March 17, 1916 in Hull Quebec, she was the daughter of Emile and Corinne (Baulue) Emond. Paulett moved to Tupper Lake at the age of 9. She married Lynn Babcock, a stone mason. They resided in Washington DC where Paulette worked at People's Drug Store. Lynn passed away in 1974 and Paulette retired to Tupper Lake to be near her brother Frenchie Emond. Loving and caring for Paulette are her friends and extended family, Janice Bombard, Lora Brown, Kim and Bill Godreau, Peggy Wittenberger, Sarah Wardner, Ryan Mellon, Dr. Peter Liepman and Brenna Hewitt, all of Saranac Lake. Also surviving is a adopted granddaughter, Ann Sherman. There will be no calling hours. A graveside service will be held at the Fort Lincoln Cemetery in Washington D.C. at the convenience of the family. Paulette's wish is that we find time today to do an act of kindness and hum her favorite song "That's what friends are for". Those wishing to remember Paulette may make a memorial donation to High peaks hospice. Arrangements are with the Stuart-Fortune-keough Funeral Home.
