TUPPER LAKE- James Joseph Amoriell, 93, of Tupper Lake, died Saturday, November 14, 2009 at his home on S. Little Wolf Rd. Born on October 31, 1916 in Tupper Lake, he was the son of Samuel and Mary (Maglione) Amoriell. Jim was employed by International Paper in Niagara Falls for eight years. Returning to Tupper Lake in 1949, he worked for Kings Electric, the Franklin and Altamont Dairies, and owned and operated Faust Electric/Amoriell's Electronics, retiring from Midstate Electric in 1980. He was married to the former Sadie Smith. After retiring, they wintered in Florida for 25 years. Jim was a member of the Tupper Lake Country Club, Lions Club, Moose Club, and Knights of Columbus. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying fishing and hunting. For several years, Jim was a member of the men's twilight golf league. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, one daughter, Della Maddox, and her husband, Walter, of Tupper Lake, and three sons, James and wife, Debbie, of Charleston, SC, William and wife, Molly, of Colton, NY, David and wife, Mary, of Ijamsville, MD. He is further survived by 11 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, two brothers, John and wife, Mildred, of Tupper Lake, Pete and wife, Matilda, of New Port Richey, FL, and a sister, Mary Malerba of Tupper Lake. He was pre-deceased by his parents, three brothers, Martin (Molly), Patsy, and Frank (Chico), and one sister, Eleanor. Friends may call at the Stuart-Fortune-Keogh Funeral Home on Tuesday, November 17 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Name Church.
