Word has been received of the death of Alana M Aagesen, age 64 formerly of Gabriels, NY and currently of Ft. Pierce, Florida.
She was born March 3, 1947 in Lake Placid New York the daughter of Mary and Harry Melvin.
Alana grew up in Lake Placid, NY and raised her children in Gabriels. She moved to Clifton Park New York where she worked as an office manager before retiring to Ft Pierce Florida. She enjoyed spending time with children, and her sister Nada. In retirement she enjoyed decorating her new home, and enjoying the Florida sun. More than anything she loved her two granddaughters.
She is survived by one daughter, Kirsten Darrah, and her husband Daniel, of Peru New York, one son
Erik Aagesen, and his wife Chelsea of Murfreesboro TN, two granddaughters Alysa Darrah of Peru New York and Tatem Aagesen of Murfreesboro TN, one sister Nada Cooper and her husband Kenneth Cooper Sr. of Ft Pierce Fl, and two nephews, Kenneth Cooper, Jr. of Clifton Park, NY and Shane Cooper of Schuylerville NY. She was predeceased by her mother and father.
Alana’s family will receive friends from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM on Sunday November 20, 2011 at the fortune-Keough Funeral Home in Saranac Lake. A memorial service will immediately follow at the funeral home.
