Death Notice

Word has been received of the death of Shirley Lorraine Chesbrough, age 70, of Lake Placid, NY who passed away on Saturday April 8, 2023 at Elderwood of Uihlein at Lake Placid.

Shirley was born on September 25, 1952, the daughter of Leon L. and Elizabeth H. (Brown) Chesbrough in Saranac Lake, NY. Shirley held various House Keeping jobs in the Saranac Lake area throughout her life.

Shirley is survived by her dear friend Ann Fitzgerald, her sisters: Valeria (James) Vandenburghe of PA, Nancy (Bill) Tyler of Schuyler Falls, NY, Ruth Gonyea of Malone, NY, Leona (Carroll) Wells of Lake Placid and Louella Chesbrough of Saranac Lake, NY. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles.

Shirley is predeceased by her mother and father, her life partner Norman VanCour, and her sister Wanda Flint.

Funeral arrangements are in care of the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home, 20 Church Street, Saranac Lake, NY 12983. All services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
