James Lorette Sr

James J. Lorette, Sr. age 81, of Saranac Lake, died Monday, August 8, 2022 at Adirondack Medical Center

Born in Greenville, New Hampshire on June 12, 1941, he was the son of James and Lucy (Deschanes) Lorette. James married Dorothy “Dottie” Muncil on Monday, August 22, 1959 in Greenville, NH.

James and Dorothy moved to Saranac Lake, NY in 1979 coming from New Hampshire where Jim had worked as a Temple, NH Police officer for many years. Jim owned and operated his own carpentry business for many years. He also had worked at St. Joseph’s Rehabilitation Center and later for the Village of Saranac Lake as a carpenter until his retirement in 2009. He was a member and past Governor of the Saranac Lake Moose Club and member of the Sons of the American Legion.

He is survived by his wife Dorothy, two sons James Lorette of Port Orchard, WA, and Steve (Debbie Donaldson) Lorette of Saranac Lake; one daughter Michelle (Scott) Fenton of Saranac Lake, six grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by on brother Francis Lorette of FL and one sister Marion Lorette-Witkowski of FL. Jim was preceded in death by one son Randy Lorette; and two brothers Robert and Wilfred Lorette

Funeral arrangements are in care of the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home in Saranac Lake. A celebration of life will take place at the Saranac Lake Moose Club at a later date to be announced.
