Philip N. Calabrese, age 85, of Saranac Lake, died Monday, January 10, 2022.
Born in Jersey City, New Jersey on January 5, 1937, he was the son of Nicholas and Rose (Calabrese) Calabrese.
Philip spent the last 20 years of his life in Saranac Lake, a place he loved. He was an avid sportsman, fisherman, outdoors man and gardener. Phil volunteered for the Grace Pantry, Community Lunch Box and Extra Helpings. He also volunteered several times working on the construction of the Saranac Lake Winter Carnival Ice Palace IPW101. He was well known for his beloved schnauzers Toby and Shadow. He had a kind, helpful and loving heart and was a good friend and neighbor. He enjoyed his daily walks on Dewey Mountain
He is survived by his daughter, Dawn Martin of Brown Mills, NJ, his dear friend Lissa Richardson of Ringoes, NJ, two sisters Pat Donato and Grace Hymack of Danville, PA, and his niece Lori Fraser and nephew Craig Donato of Danville, PA.
Funeral arrangements are in care of the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home in Saranac Lake. At Phil’s request private funeral services will take place at the convenience of the family.
