Darlene Wright

September 12, 1960 — July 14, 2021

Darlene E. Wright, age 60, of Saranac Lake, died on July 14th in her home in Saranac Lake under the care of her husband, Craig Wright, and High Peaks Hospice.

Born in Saranac Lake on September 12, 1960, Darlene was the daughter of Raymond (predeceased on February 15, 2009) and Elaine (predeceased on July 3, 2021) Begor. She would then go on to live her entire life in the Adirondacks. It is here (Vermontville, NY) where she married Craig Wright in 1979 and here where she would raise her four children: Heather (Mike) Whitney, Shannon (Matt) Lasher, Justin (Kelly) Wright, and Samantha Wright.

Being a lifelong resident of the area, Darlene loved to spend her time active in nature. Throughout her life she would often be found with her husband Craig hiking, cross country skiing, kayaking/canoeing, and camping. She also loved working in her flower gardens and nurturing her plants all while her beloved music played.

The only thing she loved more than spending time in the nature of her mountains was spending time with her 8 grandchildren and they loved spending time with their “Grandma Dar.”

Funeral Arrangements are in care of the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home, 20 Church Street, Saranac Lake, NY 12983. At Darlene’s request, there will be no Calling Hours, Funeral or Memorial Service. Friends wishing to remember Darlene Wright may make memorial contributions to High Peaks Hospice or AMC Oncology in care of the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home in Saranac Lake.
