Richard Mccormick

February 8, 1939 — May 28, 2020

Richard B. McCormick, age 81, of Saranac Lake, passed away Thursday, May 28, 2020.

A true love story doesn’t end, it just sometimes gets put on pause. Yesterday Mom [Donna] and Dad [Richard] got to continue their final chapter of their forever love story. We were so lucky and blessed to have been able to see that true forever love that only a few achieve. As we are heartbroken that you are gone Dad, we know Mom has waited far too long for her forever love to be back with her. We now have peace in knowing you and Mom can now begin the forever lasting chapter in your amazing love story. You are where you belong...with Mom!

Richard was born in Saranac Lake, New York on February 8, 1939, son of Joseph and Rose (Rule) McCormick. Richard married Donna J. Moody on September 23, 1963 at St. Bernard’s Church. Donna predeceased him on December 10, 2000.

Being a lifelong resident of Saranac Lake, he was able to co-own and operate the K & M Auto Service and Repair Shop on Broadway with his wife Donna for over 25 years. He is also a veteran of the United States Marine’s serving for four years until honorably discharged on April 7th, 1964.

He is survived by one daughter Dawn (John) Curran of Evans, GA and one son Jeffrey McCormick and his companion Tammy Younes of Lexington, SC; four sisters Vivian Eccleston of Saranac Lake, NY, Kathleen Becker of Long Island, NY, Sharon Barry of Saranac Lake, and Donna Moody of Morrisonville, NY, and one-sister-in-law Carolyn McCormick of Lake Placid, NY; and three grandchildren Joshua Colby, Jenna Gaskins and Derek Gaskins. He was predeceased in death by four sisters Helen Muncil, Eileen Slate, Mary Nason and Joyce Taylor and three brothers John, Patrick and Francis McCormick.
