Margaret Goodman

Margaret A. Goodman, age 90, of Paul Smiths, died Saturday, April 25, 2020 at Elderwood of Uihlein in Lake Placid following a brief illness.

Born in Saranac Lake, New York on May 23, 1929, she was the daughter of Frank and Pauline (Lalone) Furlong. Margaret married Francis Stub Goodman on Wednesday, May 19, 1948 in St. Paul's Church. He predeceased her on November 3, 1988.

Margaret was a lifelong resident of the area and had worked at Marjorie Merriweather Post Camp, Camp Topridge on Upper St. Regis Lake, and later started at Paul Smiths College in 1972 where she worked until her retirement then worked part time in the psc cafeteria until may 2019. She was and avid knitter and member of the Monday night ladies group at the Brighton Town Hall. She also participated in the water aerobics class at paul smiths college.

She is survived by her daughter Sandra Peria and husband Tom of Saranac Lake, NY, her daughter Sharon Duggan of Dewitt, NY, her son James Goodman of Gabriels, NY and her son William Goodman and wife Susan of Gabriels, NY, 7 grandchildren and several great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents a brother Frank,and her sister Gloria Daunais.

Funeral arrangements are in care of the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home in Saranac Lake. A graveside service will take place at a later date at Mountain View Cemetery in Gabriels NY.
