Virginia Struss

Virginia “Ginny” Struss, age 76, of Saranac Lake, died Sunday, April 12, 2020 at the Massena Rehabilitation & Nursing Center.
Born in Saranac Lake, New York on June 8, 1943, she was the daughter of Russell and Eileen (Dupree) Wood. Virginia, married David Struss on Saturday, October 15, 1966 in St. Bernard's Church. He predeceased her on September 24, 1990.
Ginny was a lifelong resident of Saranac Lake and graduated from Saranac Lake High School in 1961. She later attended and graduated from St. Joseph’s School of Nursing in Yonkers, NY in 1963. Ginny had been employed as a License Practical Nurse and Aid for Sunmount DDSO at a residential home in Saranac Lake for many years. She was a member of the 3rd Order of St. Francis, Catholic Daughters of America Court 787 St. Bernard and a member of St. Bernard's Church. Ginny loved crocheting, trips to Walmart and going to see the ships at the St. Lawrence Seaway.
She is survived by one daughter Catherine (James) Vaughn of Massena, four grandchildren Britany Kemison, Kaitlyn Vaugh, Cassandra Hamilton and David Hamilton, one great grandson James Arthur Daniel Kemison, one son-in-law George Hadynski and many aunts, uncles & cousins. She was preceded in death by one daughter Shelly Hamilton-Hadynski.
Funeral arrangements are in care of the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home in Saranac Lake. Due to the corona virus restrictions calling hours, funeral services and burial will be private. A public Mass of Christian burial and celebration of life will take place after the corona virus restrictions have been lifted. Burial will take place at St. Bernard Cemetery in Saranac Lake.
