On Wednesday, July 31st, 2019, Valerie Joan Moody passed away unexpectedly at Adirondack Medical Center in Saranac Lake, NY.

Valerie was born in Keene Valley, NY on February 4th, 1966. She attended Ausable Forks High School and went on to St. Lawrence University to acquire a Bachelors of Arts degree majoring in religion and graduated May 24th, 1987.

Val had several local jobs throughout the years including Realty in Saranac Lake, The Rusty Nail, The Manor in Lake Placid, The Barkeater and for the last 18 years ARC in Lake Clear. She was a lover of animals and especially loved her horses.

Valerie was predeceased by her father, Howard Earl Moody, brother, Paul Howard Moody, Grandmother, “Abuela”, and Paternal Grandparents.

She is survived by her mother Clara Moody (Upper Jay, NY), sister in-law, Deborah J. Moody (Keene,NY), nieces, Tracey Moody (Joseph Durant)(Saranac Lake,NY), and Christine (Moody) Ellers (Gerard Ellers) (Tupper Lake,NY) and 5 great nieces and nephews, Madison Rae Moody-Durant(Saranac Lake, NY), Alyssah C. Martinez, Cristian R. Moody-Bell, Traxon J. Ellers and Graedyn F.P. Ellers (Tupper Lake, NY). She had several great friends and co-workers who she loved as family

Funeral arrangements are in care of the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home in Saranac Lake. There will be no calling hours per Valerie’s request. Friends wishing to remember Val may make memorial contributions to the Tri-Lakes Humane Society in care of the funeral home.
