Condolence From: Jennifer Black
Condolence: It's just now, over two years later, that I am learning of Jeff's passing. I went on FB to thank him for giving me a "lefty" guitar at the Mountain Arts Gathering in the summer of 2010, and to let him know I had recently passed that same guitar along to another aspiring lefty...only to learn that he would never learn of the guitar's new home. Oh, what shock and sadness! Jeff was a good and generous man who loved music and his children most of all. My condolences to all who were close to Jeff.

Condolence: JEff and I became friends about 20 years ago. We were, in many ways, kindred spirits. Besides playing music together for at the Shamrock Jam sessions each week, I knew I could call on him to join me onstage if I were asked to perform. He had a wonderful temperament to play along with... he wanted to make the other person sound better. He would listen to a piece of music, compose a solo, and then play it, right on the spot. I always enjoyed talking fishing, or building, or history or travel with Jeff. I really enjoyed his wry humor. Being of similar age ( Jeff would make a big deal about being a few weeks older than me) and going through similar experiences, we sometimes would find ourselves talking heavier stuff about family relationships. His family meant the world to him. I remember the first time Caroline performed on piano at the Bluseed Studios. Jeff and I were standing next to each other. He was so proud, but holding his breath until the performance was over.

Condolence: Coutch, I can't believe that you've moved on. From the time I met you on PSC Campus in the late 70's, to now, your demeanor was constant. You were a kind and gentle man, and I am fortunate to have known you.
A passing as profound as Jeff's, hopefully will make us all cherish each day a bit more deeply.
Simone and I are out of town.

Condolence: Coutch was a great guy. What made us friends was a mutual love of music, and I am making a vow to write an instrumental piece in his honor. This departure came way too soon, and we are all still trying to grasp it. All we can do is carry on and remember that human bodies don't last forever, but memories and manifestations of human spirit will never die. Peace.
