Condolences

Condolence From: Bucky & Connie Willette
Condolence: Dear Jessie and family, As you know, I grew up on Payeville Rd. about 300 feet from where the Aubin family lived. Through our growing up years, all of us shared everything together. Happy times and sad times. Norris and I and all the kids on the street played football, hide and seek, etc. on the street until dark or our parents called us home. One night, when I was around 16, there was a terrible thunder and lightning storm. Mom and Dad were out for the evening when I heard a terrible crash on the roof and thought the pine tree had come down on the house. Crying in fear, I called Mrs. Aubin and she had Norris come out in the terrible storm to stay with me until my parents came home. I was never so glad to see anybody in my life. Norris will never be forgotten and will always be missed. Jessie, we love you and you are in our thoughts and prayers.

Condolence: My deepest sympathies to Jessie and rest of the Aubin
Family. Norris and Jessie have been neighbors to my parents for over 40 years. As they aged he went above and beyond too many times to count! His kindness and concern allowed my Mom to stay in her home til 90yo. What a gentle soul!! He will be missed.

Condolence From: Board of the Saranac Lake Golf Club
Condolence: The Board of Governors and the staff of the Saranac Lake Golf Club would like to extend our deepest condolences to the Aubin family.

Norris was a great man. He gave much of himself to our Club; his contributions too numerous to list. He will surely be missed. More importantly, he will be in our memories and thoughts for many years to come.

Condolence From: Linda Beairsto
Condolence: Years ago I had a minor car problem and was stopped in front of a house. It was a very hot day, and the occupant of the house brought me a glass of water which I was drinking when Chief Aubin and two other policemen showed up. The chief told me that I shouldn't be drinking gin while driving. I protested that it was water, but he said that he could smell alcohol.
Weeks later he saw me downtown and approached me. He told me that he had been hoping to see me, that he had been wrong, apologized to me, and explained that one of his policemen had been the person with alcohol on his breath.
I appreciated Chief Aubin's honesty and his willingness to take responsibility for his mistake. I was so impressed with his upstanding character that I have remembered his actions for more than forty years. I didn't know him other than through this one incident, but I know that he was an honorable man.
