Carl Aubin

Carl B. Aubin, age 53, of 56 Old Lake Colby Road, Saranac Lake, died unexpectedly, Sunday, August 18, 2013 at Adirondack Medical Center.

Born in Marietta, Georgia on June 30, 1960, he was the son of Carlton and Evelyn (Webster) Aubin. Carl married Kathy Yelle on April 20, 1996 in Malone, NY.

Carl had been employed as the Head Chef at the McKenzie’s Grill in Saranac Lake from 1994 until present. Prior to that Carl had worked for Paul Smith’s College at the Hotel Saranac from 1981 to 1994 working in the kitchen and teaching the students. While employed at Hotel Saranac, Carl received the Gold Chefs Hat Award. Carl loved spending time with his family. He was a man of few words but with a huge heart. His family was his world. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and sitting around laughing at and with his crazy five sisters. You will be dearly missed Brother, as he was so lovingly called by all of his sisters.

He is survived by his wife Kathy Aubin of Saranac Lake, NY, three step children Fred Duchaine of Malone, John Duchaine of Saranac Lake, and Amanda Duchaine of Bloomingdale, one daughter Ricki Drinkwine of Woodbridge, VA, five sisters Kathy Kuhns of Lititz, PA, Karen Barber and her husband Tim of Plattsburgh, NY, Koreen Sweet of Anderson, SC, Carla Stout Aubin of Plattsburgh, and Laura Reeves and her husband Kyle of Anchorage, AK, 7 grandchildren including Brandon Duchaine, Cody and Madison Burcume, and Jenna and Jaylee Niederbuhl and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral arrangements are in care of the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home in Saranac Lake. A graveside service will take place at 1:00 PM on Friday August 23, 2013 at St. Bernard's Cemetery in Saranac Lake with Rev. Bill Meunch officiating. A celebration of his life to follow at McKenzie's Grille.
