TUPPER LAKE-

Sadie Della Amoriell, 89, of Tupper Lake passed away, Thursday, March 1, 2012 at Mercy Living Center in Tupper Lake. Born September 3, 1922 in Tupper Lake, she was the daughter of William and Della (King) Smith. Sadie was a graduate of Holy Ghost Academy in 1940 and went on to North Country Community College earning an Associate's Degree in Mental Health. She was employed by Franklin County and later Sunmount DDSO, retiring in 1982. She was married to James Amoriell. Jim passed away on November 14, 2009. After their retirement, they wintered in Lakeland, Florida, which they enjoyed for 25 years. Sadie enjoyed oil painting, bridge, and golf. She is survived by one daughter, Della Maddox, and her husband, Walter of Tupper Lake, three sons: James and his wife Debbie of Charleston, SC, William and his wife Molly of Colton, NY, David and his wife Mary of Ijamsville, MD, and 11 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. Also surviving is one brother, Paul of Adams Center, and several nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by her husband, two sisters, Olive and Hilda, and six brothers: Norman , Edward, William, Leon, Alfred and Robert. Calling hours are scheduled for Sunday, March 4, from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the Stuart-Fortune-Keough Funeral Home in Tupper Lake. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, March 5, at 11 a.m. at Holy Name Church. Burial will be in St. Alphonsus cemetery in May. Those wishing to make memorial contributions are asked to consider the Tupper Lake Arts Council or Mercy Living Center Activities Department in care of the funeral home.
