Austin Muncil

Austin M. Muncil, age 28, of Saranac Lake, NY passed away on Saturday September 14, 2023 in Albany, NY.

Austin was born on July 28, 1995 in Saranac Lake, NY the son of Michael A. Muncil, II and Jennifer L. (Willette) Muncil.

Austin grew up in Saranac Lake, NY working maintenance in the local area. He was a loving father to Damien and was generous, kind and cared deeply about his family. They experienced his devotion through his authentic desire to help in whatever way he could. Through many challenges, Austin continued to share his love for others while struggling to accept it for himself. His heart was bright and his will was always striving. A “Giver,” Austin will be missed for so many things. His story is full of grit, determination, failures and successes. Through it all ran the thread of his love, connecting him to all who knew him and gladly returned the gift.

Austin is survived by his son: Damien M. Muncil; his father Michael Muncil II, his sister Valerie A. Muncil; three brothers: Dominic B. Noah L. and Blake A. Muncil; his maternal grandmother: Sharon (Mark) Wilkins, his paternal grandmother: Evelyn (Raymond) St. John as well as several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Austin was preceded in death by his mother: Jennifer L. (Willette) Muncil, his maternal grandfather: Micheyl Willette and paternal grandfather: Michael Muncil

Funeral Arrangements are in care of the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home, 20 Church Street, Saranac Lake, NY 12983. Calling hours are scheduled for October 8, 2023 at the funeral home from Noon until 2:00pm. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in the family plot in Bloomingdale, NY.
