Pearl Tuthill

January 16, 1923 — March 26, 2018

Pearl E. Tuthill, 95 of Saranac Lake, died on Monday, March 26, 2018 at Elderwood of Uihlein at Lake Placid.

Born in Black Brook, NY, on January 16, 1923, she was the daughter of Dolph and Delia (Rushia) LaGoy.

A lifelong resident of the area, Pearl worked as bookkeeper at LaPan Oil company for 25 years. She worked at various oil companies and retired from Ultramar in Saranac Lake in 1985.

Pearl married Bernard R. Tuthill November 11, 1939 in Black Brook, NY. He predeceased her May 17, 2007.

Pearl was one of 14 children. She is survived by her daughter Joan (Patrick) Kiah of Saranac Lake, a sister Theresa Whalen of Green Island, NY, four granddaughters, Kim (Roger) Girouard, Linda (Walter) Larzik, Michelle Wilson, all of Saranac Lake and Sheila Kent of Queensbury, NY. Also surviving are five great grandsons, two great, great granddaughters and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased in death by her husband, her mother and father, daughter Beverly Jones, and twelve sisters and brothers.

Pearl’s family was her greatest joy in life and her favorite hobbies included knitting and cooking. She was a wonderful cook!

Funeral arrangements are in care of the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home in Saranac Lake. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Monday April 2, 2018 at St. Paul’s Oratory in Bloomingdale. Interment will be in St. Paul’s Cemetery in the spring.
