Lewis A. Conway, age 65, of Lake Placid, NY died Monday, March 27, 2017.
Born in Lake Placid, New York on March 02, 1952, he was the son of Alfred and Johanna H. (Berg) Conway. Lewis, married Cindy Porter on March 2, 1977 in Lake Placid.
Lewis had been a lifelong resident of Lake Placid where he owned and operated the Northern Pine Painting Company and later the Conway’s Coating and Covering. He is a veteran of the United States Navy serving from 1971 to 1974 during the Vietnam War. Lewis was a member of the Lake Placid Veterans of Foreign Wars and American Legion. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. Lewis especially loved to travel and attend his Navy Ships reunions.
He is survived by his wife Cindy Conway of Lake Placid, one son Courtney Conway of Lake Placid and one daughter Erin Conway of Clifton Park, two brothers Pudge Conway and Anthony Conway both of Lake Placid, one sister Mary Ellen Wilsey of Lake Placid, two grandsons Daemon Ferreras and Camden Taylor and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father and mother.
Funeral arrangements are in care of the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home. Calling hours will take place at the Adirondack Community Church in Lake Placid on Saturday, April 1, 2017 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A funeral service will follow on Saturday at 12:00 P.M. at the Adirondack Community Church., with Rev. Patricia Molick officiating. Burial will follow at North Elba Cemetery in Lake Placid.
