Wanda Flint

August 31, 1943 — December 16, 2016

Wanda Elizabeth Flint passed away unexpectedly Friday, Dec. 16, 2016 at Adirondack Medical Center with her beloved husband Lee by her side. As her soul followed the rainbow that day to heaven.

Born August 31, 1943 in Saranac Lake, she was the daughter of Basil Johnson and Bette Brown Chesbrough.

She graduated from Saranac Lake High School. Also earned her Associates Degree from NCCC.

On March 23, 1963, Wanda married the love of her life, Leland Flint, they were married for 53 years.

In her early years she worked at the Gabriels Sanatorium, later at the Hotel Saranac as a housekeeper, Town Clerk for the Town of Saint Armand, she was a Clerk at NCCC in the Academic Affairs Office and later retired from Adirondack Audiology where she had worked for many years.

Wanda loved rides on their Harley motorcycle, watching Greys Anatomy, holding her cats, Country Music, especially Conway Twitty, collecting her stuffed lambs, driving her Volvo, most of all she enjoyed going shopping.

She also loved spending time with Lee and son Paul and her sisters and her entire family

Wanda was also known as Ricki, for her love of Ricky Nelson.

Special memories will be forever in the hearts of her husband Lee, their son Paul of Saranac Lake, her father Basil Johnson of Bloomingdale, sisters Valeria (Jim) of Pa., Nancy (Bill) Tyler of Schuyler Falls, Shirley Chesbrough of Lake Placid, Leona (Mickey) Wells of Lake Placid, Louella Chesbrough of Saranac Lake and Ruth Gonyea of Malone. Many sister-in-laws and brother-in laws and many nieces and nephews, all who loved her dearly, knowing her as Aunt Ricki. Also her orange cat Harley, who already misses sitting on her lap.

She was predeceased by her son, Leland (Chip), her mother Bette and her stepfather Leon Chesbrough.

Calling hours will be at Fortune-Keough Funeral Home in Saranac Lake on Tuesday Dec. 20, 2016 from 4 to 7 p.m. Funeral services will take place at 11:00 AM on Wednesday at the funeral home with burial to follow in the Union Cemetery in Vermontville.
