Linda Colby

Linda L. Colby, age 68, of Saranac Lake, died Sunday, September 18, 2016 at the Kindred Hospital in Boston, MA with her son and granddaughters by her side.

Born in Albany, New York on November 10, 1947, she was the daughter of Helen Gonyea.

Linda was a lifelong resident of Saranac Lake and had worked for 44 years at the Saranac Lake

General Hospital/Adirondack Medical Center until her retirement in 2008. She loved to sew, play bingo and bowl. She especially enjoyed spending time with her son and grandchildren.

She is survived by one son Jason Colby of Saranac Lake, her mother Helen Rock of Uihlein Mercy Center in Lake Placid, two grandchildren Addison and Emmi Colby of Saranac Lake, one brother Paul Gonyea and his wife Judy of Rome, NY, and their three children Nathan (Jenifer), Benjamin (Alia and son Noah), and Brianna (Hayden and daughter Rachel), several cousins, and her former husband James Colby of Milton, Vermont.

Funeral arrangements are in care of the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home in Saranac Lake. There will be no calling hours. A graveside service will take place at 11 am on Saturday October 1, 2016 at St. Bernard’s Cemetery in Saranac Lake with Rev. Patrick Ratigan officiating.
