Kathryn Nardiello

Kathryn Bridget O’Keefe Nardiello, “Kitty”, died reluctantly at her home on September 6th, 2016, she was 81.

Kitty was born August 16, 1935 in Glens Falls, New York. The daughter of Francis Mary O’Keefe and Marion Bennett O’Keefe. She was raised in Hudson Falls where she attended High School. In 1953 she attended St. Lawrence University where she met her future husband Donald Anthony Nardiello. Following the birth of their first child in Fort Campbell Kentucky, Kitty and Don made their home in Lake Placid, where they had three more children.

In 1965 Don and Kitty purchased WIRD radio as began their nearly 40 year broadcasting career. Kitty was a huge supporter of her town. She was a member of the Joint Review Board for the town and village of Lake Placid for seven years. Kitty was an avid swimmer, tennis player and golfer.

Kitty was predeceased by her father and mother and her husband Donald. Survivors include her four children:

Donald Anthony Nardiello Jr.,his wife, and Kitty’s “bonus” daughter, Kate Stavenhagen of Lake Placid, NY: Kathryn Christian Farfel (Douglas) of Salt Lake City, UT: Timothy Francis Nardiello of Lake Placid, NY; Bridget Maria Nardiello of Bristol, VT; and her nine grandchildren : Bridget Anne Farfel (David Suhre) and Michael Williams Farfel of Salt Lake City, UT; Marisa Leigh Nardiello of Lake Placid, NY; Mathew Francis Nardiello of Lake Placid, NY; John Anthony Nardiello of Lake Placid, NY; Grace Kathryn Nardiello of Lake Placid, NY; James Wells Bennett Nardiello of Lake Placid, NY; Juniper O’keefe Butterfly Nardiello Smith and Francis McEnroe Nardiello Smith of Bristol, VT.

Funeral arrangements are in care of the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home in Saranac Lake. There will be no calling hours. There will be a funeral held on Saturday, September 17th, 2016 at 2 pm at St. Agnes Church in Lake Placid.
