Molly Cochran, LTC-Retired, age 67, of 237 County Route 60, Rainbow Lake, NY, died Sunday, April 10, 2016 at Albany Medical Center.
Born in Saranac Lake, New York on March 16, 1949, she was the daughter of Herb and Mary (Walker) Cochran. Molly married John Bray on August 6, 1987 in Rainbow Lake, New York.
Molly graduated from Saranac Lake High School in 1967, received a Bachelors of Science in Nursing from SUNY Downstate Medical Center in 1971 and a Masters in Cardiovascular Nursing from Catholic University of America in 1980 while in the US Army. Molly served as a Registered Nurse in the United States Army from September 1971 until her retirement in June 1992. At the time of her retirement she was a Lieutenant Colonel and had served at various military bases throughout the world. Following her military retirement she returned to Saranac Lake and worked for High Peaks Hospice as Regional Director until 1999.
Molly was an Adjunct Faculty from 2001 until 2004 for North County Community College and Potomac State College of West Virginia University teaching distant learning courses in a variety of subjects.
During her final retirement, Molly especially enjoyed spending time in Rainbow Lake with her husband John.
She is survived by her husband John Bray of Rainbow Lake, three brothers Robert (Terri) Cochran of North Tonawanda, Hank (Judy) Cochran of Fitzgerald, GA, and Michael Cochran of Saranac Lake, one sister Janet Swentusky of Saranac Lake, and several cousins, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, mother and one sister Alice Harrington.
Funeral arrangements are in care of the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home in Saranac Lake. At Molly’s request there will be no calling hours. A celebration of her life will take place at the convenience of her family at a later date.
