Viola Bergmann

Viola Bergmann, 102, died Saturday December 19, 2015 at the Uihlein Mercy Living Center in Lake Placid where she had been a resident since 2008.
She was born July 24, 1913 the daughter of William and Clara (Foote) Balco.
Viola lived most of her life in Rochester where she did thousands of hours of community service work. She was a Girl Scout leader for eleven years, a Red Cross volunteer, a member and officer of PTA at 49 School, and sorted mail two days a week at the Highland Hospital for over fifteen years. She moved to Saranac Village at Will Rogers in Saranac Lake, NY in 2003 where she enjoyed making new friends, exercise and art classes, and day trips to local sites. She loved cards, crafts, reading, and crossword puzzles.
She is predeceased by her husband of fifty-six years, Cedric O. Bergmann, and survived by two daughters Noelle Bergmann and Linda Beairsto both of Vermontville, NY, two grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Funeral arrangements are in care of the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home in Saranac Lake. There will be no calling hours. Funeral services will take place at the convenience of the family.
