Linda Elmore

January 13, 1941 — December 19, 2014

Linda Diane Elmore, 73, of Olde Orchard Lane in Shelburne, Vermont died peacefully on Friday, December 19, 2014, surrounded by her family after a long illness.

Diane was born in Bloomingdale, New York on January 13, 1941 to the late Gertrude S. and Arthur B. Wardner, Sr. She graduated from Saranac Lake High School in 1958. She graduated from Albany Business College in 1959 and proceeded to work at Saranac Lake Federal Savings & Loan for about 30 years as a mortgage officer. Diane was married to the love of her life, Bruce Eugene (“Gene”) Elmore, and they were about to celebrate their 23rd wedding anniversary. She took pride in her neat, orderly house and provided her family and friends with exceptional love, support and devotion. Diane always remembered the small things that made people happy—a special card, ornaments for all the grandkids at Christmas, and her famous chocolate chip cookies. One of her greatest joys was her annual trip to Maine in the summer with her daughter Kimberly and her granddaughter Amanda. They would enjoy the ocean, shopping, playing games, laughter, and many lobsters.

Diane is survived by her husband Bruce Eugene Elmore of Shelburne, Vermont; her daughter with late ex-husband Neil Drew, Kimberly Ann DeMattio and granddaughter Amanda Leigh DeMattio of Colchester, Vermont; her brother Arthur B. Wardner, Jr. and niece Victoria Wardner of Knoxville, Tennessee; her mother-in-law Marjorie “June” Elmore of Burlington, Vermont; her step-daughters Monica (Elmore) Massaro and her family of Bedford, Massachusetts and Lucy Miller of Burlington, Massachusetts and Natasha (Elmore)Theofanidis and her family of Houston, Texas. She also leaves behind her two best friends Barbara Persico of Lake Placid, New York and Karen Montroy of Malone, New York. The trio called themselves the three musketeers. Thank you - our very special neighbors - Richard and Karen Grimm and John and Teresa Meyer. Thank you Karen for your many trips to visit Diane. Thank you, John and Teresa, for your loving support and the many deck parties.
