Timothy Jock

Timothy Lee Jock, age 63, of William Street, Saranac Lake, died Sunday, May 19, 2013.

Born in Malone, New York on September 06, 1949, he was the son of Harold and Lillian (Russell) Jock, Sr.

Tim was a native of the Brushton-Moira area, he moved to Saranac Lake in 1968 to attend North Country Community College, where he earned a social science degree. He also attended Plattsburgh State University.

Tim served six years in the Army Reserves. He worked for Prudential Insurance Company and for the state Department of Corrections as a cook at Camp Gabriels until his retirement.

Tim served on the Saranac Lake Village board as a Village trustee and then as the Mayor of Saranac Lake for six terms, from 1979 to 1987 and from 1995 to 1998,

He was also very involved with Saranac Lake's local Pendragon Theatre.

He is survived by one son Timothy Jock,II. of Dutch Harbor, AK, and his wife Thuong of Vietnam, one daughter Trinity Bushey of Saranac Lake, two brothers Harry Jock, Jr. of Michigan and Ronald Jock of Moira, two sisters Shannon Cassidy of Phoenix, AZ and Velvet Brown of Georgia, two grandchildren Michael and Mathew Bushey, his former wife Mary (Hill) Jock and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral arrangements are in care of the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home in Saranac Lake. A Mass of Christian Burial is set to take place at 12:00 PM on Friday May 31, 2013 at St. Bernard’s Church. Internment will take place in St. Bernard’s Cemetery in Saranac Lake. A reception will immediately follow at the Waterhole #3.
